Santi Aouna reports that last summer, the day before the PSG versus Lorient match in Ligue 1, Kylian Mbappé promised PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to extend his contract, which led to his reinstatement in the group. The president of the French club very badly received the PSG striker's broken promise, and now he is certain to play for Real Madrid next season. Mbappé was not called upon for the first Ligue 1 match of the season against Lorient as he reportedly said not to renew his contract at the end of this season. Mbappé was linked to a move to Real Madrid last summer and even Saudi Arabia, but the promise to renew allowed him to play again.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano also reports that Mbappé's future is settled and that he would leave PSG as a free agent and sign for Real Madrid this summer. His future could be announced in the first week of June before the Euros, as the player wants to be fully focused on the international tournament to help the French national team win the Euros.

Mbappé has made 42 appearances for PSG in all competitions this season. The French star has scored 41 goals and has provided nine assists. In Ligue 1, Mbappé has played 26 matches, scoring 24 goals and providing six assists. PSG could go on to win a treble this season as they are first in the French league with 63 points, 10 points clear of second place Brest. PSG is in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund and will play in the Coupe de France final against Lyon.
