The French player was talking with Bellingham in a video that showcased the English midfielder talking about one of his friends. Football fans believed that Bellingham was talking about his former teammate Erling Haaland, as he referred to him as "a great guy." Tchouameni said he didn't care, and Bellingham made a claim that surprised the French midfielder. Bellingham said, " He's better than your guy," leaving Tchouameni shocked and saying no in disbelief. That is when fans thought this discussion was a debate between Haaland and Mbappé.

Tchouameni spoke with RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins about the video. He clarified that the video had nothing to do with Mbappé and Haaland. Tchouameni said, "We weren't talking about Kylian and Erling. We were talking about Eric Dier and Dayot Upamecano. Jude was talking about Dier, and I was talking about Dayot. It won't make as big news, but it's the truth." When asked who he thought was better between Haaland and Mbappé, he said, "Mbappé or Haaland? I prefer Mbappé. Haaland is a great player, but I prefer Mbappé."

Tchouameni was then asked what Mbappé is potentially thinking about Real Madrid or the Olympics. Tchouameni said, "I can't say whether he’s talking more about Real Madrid or the Olympics because I haven’t talked to him about that yet.”

Tchouameni on potentially playing the Olympics with France

Real Madrid has reportedly been against sending their players to the Summer Olympics. Tchouameni was asked if he wanted to play in the Olympics, and he said, "Obviously, playing in the Olympic Games, in your own country, is something extraordinary. It is not something that we can repeat in our lives, but (Real Madrid) is our employer, and from the moment Real Madrid decides to veto it, we don't have much to say."
