Liverpool usually does not spend a lot of money on star players on a consistent basis. The Reds were considering signing big players in the past, but some have not worked out. Real Madrid's crucial player Jude Bellingham was one of those players Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp were looking. Aurelien Tchouameni is another name Liverpool was interested in signing, but they decided to go to Real Madrid instead. Now it seems the roles have reversed, as Liverpool is now looking at potentially signing a Real Madrid player who is crucial for their team.

According to Sport via Liverpool FC Transfer Room, Liverpool is interested in Rodrygo and has already made contact with Real Madrid. Rodrygo is concerned about his place in the team with the arrivals of Mbappé and Endrick soon, and Madrid is expected to demand at least $107 million for his transfer. Rodrygo usually plays on the right wing position, but this season, he has been used as the second striker along with Vinicius Jr. Rodrygo has adapted to playing on the right, but his preferred position is on the left side.

Rodrygo is a right-footed player and looks his best when he plays as a left-winger with Real Madrid. Real Madrid has an issue with having too great natural left-wingers, and with Mbappé close to arriving, the French star could be another option in that position. Endrick is more comfortable as a natural striker, so the options in the starting 11 for Rodrygo could be slim next season unless he continues to play as the right winger. Rodrygo will be an automatic starter at Liverpool if Mohamed Salah leaves this summer. The Brazilian could either play on the right wing or switch with Luis Diaz, so he plays in his more comfortable position.
