Manchester United's Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a plan this summer that will include lots of departures. One of the players that could leave this summer is Manchester United's $100 million signing, Antony, from Ajax in the summer of 2022. Antony seemed to be an exciting talent and had a decent first season with Man United. This season has been the complete opposite, and now the club is losing patience with the player.

Antony played 25 Premier League games last season with Manchester United, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Antony started 23 of those 25 matches with Man United last season. For Man United, Antony played 20 matches in the Premier League this season, scoring no goals and providing no assists. He started in 11 matches out of the 20 games this season and has featured 20 minutes in the last five games. Antony was benched for the Aston Villa and the Luton Town game. Antony came off the bench against Fulham in the 90th minute.

Antony's market value has decreased a lot since he was worth over $100 million. Tranfermarkt reports that Antony is now worth over $40 million. Antony is not the only player that could leave. Casemiro, Martial, and Varane could all leave this summer due to the high salaries they have and Sir Jim Ratcliffe wanting a salary limit in the squad less than $300k a week. Mirror Football reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will demand new CEO Omar Berrada gets tough with Manchester United’s highest earners by introducing a bonus-led pay structure that will only see players cash in if they are successful.

Marca reports that Manchester United plans to part ways with several high-profile names, with only team captain Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot safe from being sold this summer. Among other names, the club would like to keep Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez.
