Bye Varane? Man United willing to spend $75 million on defender to replace Varane

Manchester United could look very different next season as Sir Jim Ratcliffe plans to sell many players to raise funds for summer transfer window signings. One of the players that could leave this summer is Raphael Varane. Varane arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. Varane has been key for Man United when he first joined but has lately played less behind Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez under Erik Ten Hag. Varane has been open to a move away from Man United, and there were rumors of him leaving last month.

Varane was rumored to move to Saudi Arabia and potentially reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo. Al Nassr was interested in bringing Varane to the club in the winter transfer window, but Varane was needed because of the injuries Manchester United had. Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire were injured, and the club did not have a lot of quality depth in the center-back position. Ten Hag even has played Johnny Evans ahead of Varane, and the French player was required to be convinced to leave Manchester United sooner rather than later.

Due to another Martinez injury, Varane has started the last three games for Manchester United. Varane has played 17 games in the Premier League and started in 12 of those games. In the Champions League, Varane played four matches and started in three. While Varane is playing right now, he is not in the plans for next season. Manchester United wants to sell many players this summer and transform the squad. Varane could be one of the players sold. Manchester United are looking at the Serie A and could spend $75 million.

Manchester United is targeting Juventus center-back Glieson Bremer

While Man United plans to sell Varane, the club has identified a replacement. According to Tuttosport, Manchester United are keeping an eye on Juventus defender Gleison Bremer as a replacement for Varane. Man United could offer around $65 to $75 million this summer. Bremer is also a target for PSG this summer.
