Klopp says in a video statement published by Liverpool, "I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people at this moment when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it, or at least try to explain it."

"I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take."

“I told the club already in November that I’m leaving at the end of the season. I’m running out of energy; that’s the truth. I love absolutely everything about this club and Liverpool, but I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again."

"I will find something else to do. But I will not manage a club or country for at least a year. What I know definitely is that I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool. Don't make these games about me."

Klopp will have a press conference at 10 am EST and will address his decision to the media. The German manager mentioned to be 100% focused on the rest of the season after the press conference and wants to go for all four trophies they are competing in which are the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Europa League, and the Premier League.
