Liverpool drew to Fulham but advances to the EFL Cup final to face Chelsea

Liverpool drew 1-1 against Fulham in the second leg of the EFL Carabao Cup semifinal, but it is enough for Liverpool to play Chelsea in the EFL Carabao Cup final next month on the 25th of February. Liverpool has the most appearances in the Carabao Cup finals, with 14 finals now. Liverpool have won 9 of those finals in their history and will look to win their 10th after winning 3-2 on the aggregate score against Fulham.

Jarell Quansah channeled his inner Van Dijk and passed a beautiful lobbed ball to Luis Diaz, who controlled it with his chest. Diaz scored the opener for Liverpool in the 11th minute after a great ball by the 20-year-old defender. The Colombian cut inside and took a near post where Leno took a touch on it but couldn't stop the ball from going in. Liverpool took a bigger lead in the aggregate score to 3-1. Quansah has the most assists of any player in the Carabao Cup this season.

Fulham was very close to scoring early in the second half after a Tosin header was won in the box, beating Kelleher, and Periera shot the ball onto the post inside the empty net. Liverpool could've scored after that, as a counterattack led to an Elliot shot stopped by Leno.

Fulham drew the game late in the game but it was too late

Darwin Nunez took a great shot onto the far post, but Leno’s save was even better. Because of their pace, Diaz and Nunez kept interchanging positions, giving Fulham lots of headaches. Nunez wanted his goal, and after giving away from Palhinha, Nunez turned the Portuguese midfielder and took a shot that just went wide.

Diop equalized the game for Fulham in the 76th minute and gave Fulham hope in Craven Cottage. The defender gave Fulham a second goal for Fulham in the tie as the aggregate score was 3-2. Harry Wilson took a great left-footed shot, which Kelleher saved. Liverpool held on to the draw by kicking the ball out of their half and advanced to yet another final with Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool advances with a 3-2 win on aggregate.
