Messi is well known, and because of this, it saved the life of an elderly lady in Israel. Unfortunately for the people in Israel and Palestine, there is a war going on with many casualties. Luckily for this 90-year-old lady, saying the name Messi saved her from being kidnapped.

UHN PLUS reported that 90-year-old Ester Cunion is an Argentine woman who was in danger of being kidnapped in Israel by Hamas members. Cunion talked about how she mentioned Messi to the Hamas members and how one of the members took a picture with her and left.

Cunion said, "They knocked on my door, and two came in and asked me where my family was. I told them that 'I lived alone,' and then they told me: 'You're coming with us, this whole thing is going to be on fire...'"

"I told them not to talk to me because I don't know their language and I speak Hebrew badly. I speak in Argentinian, in Spanish... One of them tells me: 'What is Argentina?' And then I ask him: 'Do you watch football?' And he answers: 'Yes, I like it.'"
