FC Barcelona was rumored to make some significant changes as soon as Xavi left the club. Xavi will not be in charge of the Barca team next season, and the club hopes to use other players next year. There are certain things the club wants to keep ahead of next season, and it could see the return of a former Barca player with a target manager.

The Athletic reports that since Xavi's announcement that he will be stepping down at the end of the season, no concrete offers have been made, but Barcelona has contacted at least one potential appointee. Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta would like the team still looking to maintain the 4-3-3 formation. With Xavi leaving, Ansu Fati can stay at Barcelona next season, especially if De Zerbi becomes the club's new manager. De Zerbi is high on Barça's shortlist. The Italian coach has plenty of admirers on Barça's board, and they value his tactical approach. His Premier League, Serie A, Europa League, and Champions League experience impressed the club. The Catalan club is also impressed by being recognized by Pep Guardiola as one of the best managers in the Premier League.

De Zerbi has been heavily linked to move to FC Barcelona along with Fati, but the club also targets bringing Brighton left winger Kaoru Mitoma. Mitoma is one of three left-winger targets for Barcelona. The other two wingers are Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal and Napoli's Kvaratskhelia. It was reported a week ago that FC Barcelona is monitoring Brighton's Mitoma, which Ansu Fati could be included in the deal.
