FC Barcelona is struggling financially, and the club needs to make funds for next season. They are struggling to generate any significant funds due to the debt they are in and also playing in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys stadium instead of their Camp Nou. The stadium's capacity holds around 55,000 seats but since the debt is getting close to its end, Barca is willing to make some sales in their club that doesn't include players.

FC Barcelona were rumored to sell either Frenkie De Jong or Ronald Araujo to gain funds. The Catalan club reportedly needs to gain 200 million euros for the summer to avoid reaching FFP rules. Araujo is valued at 100 million euros, and Bayern Munich was interested in submitting a bid during the last January transfer window. After many rumors of De Jong being available in the summer market, Chelsea reportedly is willing to offer Barca 100 million euros to sign the Dutch midfielder. While the club could sell the two players, Barca sporting director Deco has expressed to not sell any of their star players to gain funds.

According to Sport, work is being done for the sale of Barça Studios with an income of about 200 million euros that will help meet the 1-1 rule so that players can be registered. The club has tried to sell Barca Studios in the past to gain funds, but this time they would need a full sale to gain the 200 million euros needed. Barca could use that money to also bring in new players on top of signing Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal.
