FC Barcelona may consider not signing Joao Cancelo on a permanent deal from his loan spell after his bad performance against Real Madrid. It was a difficult night for Cancelo as the Portuguese right-back was at fault for two Real Madrid goals at the Santiago Bernabeu. Lucas Vasquez gave Cancelo headaches as he got past the Portuguese in the first half, which led to a penalty for Madrid, and then he was left unmarked by Cancelo in Madrid's second goal in the second half. Fans are annoyed that he has made mistakes like that in the past and did it in the same week against PSG in the Champions League.

Another player who received criticism was Ronald Araujo and according to Sport, the Uruguayan defender is placed in the Catalan club's transfer list. FC Barcelona may be open to hearing bids worth $100 million for the player this summer.

After the game against Real Madrid, Araujo said, "It’s been a sad week, but I’m strong mentally. I work hard for that and that is why I was able to get to this club. There is nothing to say about how much I give on the field, everyone knows that I cannot be blamed (about giving it all) on the pitch."

Ronald Araujo takes responsibility and doesn't blame the referees for the loss vs Real Madrid

Araujo agreed with Xavi and Ter Stegen about La Liga not having goal-line technology, saying, "We're in one of the best leagues in the world, and it's ridiculous that we don't have goal-line technology."

The Uruguayan defender was not shy about blaming himself and the team for the result and said, "We can't use the referees as an excuse. There are details that we missed, and we failed again."
