FC Barcelona has announced that Alejandro Balde underwent a successful surgery on the tendon in his right hamstring. The player is still injured for the rest of the season for Barca and is likely to miss the 2024 Euros with the Spanish national team. Barcelona are in an economic crisis, but they look to spend on a left-back replacement for the rest of the season.

Barcelona are looking to bring in another player to replace Balde so they can fill in a registration spot. Gavi suffered an ACL injury earlier in the season, and Vitor Roque came in January to replace his registration with the team. Similarly, Barca will try to do the same for Balde. Joao Cancelo can play as a left-back, as well as Hector Fort. Both players are natural right-backs, and Xavi might have to stick with either one in the right-back position. Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde have been placed in the right-back position and have expressed their desire to play as center-backs.

With Barca's economic crisis going on, the Catalan club will look at cheap options to bring in this transfer window. The transfer window is soon closing, and the club will have to act fast in the market to bring a player in. Barca was considering bringing a player on loan like Joao Felix and Cancelo. They would like to sell one player, like Oriol Romeu, to make a transfer easier. Barca have identified a potential replacement for Balde that wouldn't cost too much.
