As Liverpool fans are happy for Edwards' return, Jurgen Klopp saddens fans

Liverpool fans are excited to see Michael Edwards return to the club. Edwards was an excellent sporting director at Liverpool in recent years but now he will be having a bigger role that will determine more choices regarding signings, managers, and more about the club. Liverpool fans believe this is the right step for the club as Jurgen Klopp is set to leave at the end of the season. Edwards is also looking to have more clubs under Liverpool's ownership and has plans for the summer. Jurgen Klopp had a press conference ahead of the second leg of the Round of 16 games of the Europa League against Sparta Prague. Liverpool won 5-1 last week, and most of the questions asked of Klopp were about Edwards returning to Liverpool. Klopp talked about Edwards and said, "Michael and I we always had a really good relationship, very good on a professional basis, a lot of good things happened in the time we were here together. Now he's back, I'm really happy; it's a top solution; our conversation was great."

The media asked about what the conversations between Klopp and Edwards were with the hope of an answer about his future with Liverpool. Klopp said, "[We spoke about] what I think about players, stuff like this, the situation in the club because I was in when he wasn’t in, what did change, what might have to change. A really good talk.”

Klopp says he is still leaving regardless of Edwards' return

Jurgen Klopp was asked if Edwards asked him to stay next season since the pair worked together for a long time. Klopp said, "Michael Edwards didn’t ask me to stay because he's not dumb. It was not a subject to talk about. We always had really good relationship. Very good on professional basis anyway. Now he's back, I'm really happy. I want to see the club in the best possible place."
