The new 36-league format for next season's Champions League is already not a fan favorite for many football fans. Two leagues will have an extra slot to qualify for the Champions League and many are confused as to how the tournament will play out. The top eight teams in this league format will directly advance to the Round of 16. Positions nine to 24 will enter a playoff to earn the other eight paces in the round of 16. From positions 25 to 36, teams will be eliminated from Europe completely.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has released new information about next season's Champions League. The draw that determined the group stages will be scrapped, and many were wondering how the new draw would work in the league format. What football fans now learn is that humans won't do the draw. Solhekol reports that next season's Champions League draw will be completed by computer. Clubs will be manually drawn initially; then, a computer will take over and select their eight opponents for the 36-team league.

An English IT company will be in charge of the software

Kaveh Solhekol reports that an English IT company is developing software to carry out the digital drawing part. There will also be two backup software systems, and the draw will be audited. The new hybrid draw is expected to take around 35 minutes - the same duration as the current draw for the existing format. UEFA draw simulations have shown that a manual draw for the new format would take between three and four hours and require 900 balls.
