Barcelona puts a price tag on Memphis Depay's possible transfer

FC Barcelona needs to sell players to bring in money and to reduce the high costs of the current squad and it seems that this could affect Memphis Depay, who has several suitors in this transfer market.

According to Sport, the Catalan side would be willing to listen to proposals for Memphis Depay as long as they reach 20 million euros, the figure at which they have valued the talented Dutch striker.

Depay arrived last summer after finishing his contract with Olympique Lyon, signing for only two seasons, so this upcoming season is his last year of contract and there is a risk that he could leave for free in the summer of 2023.

Sub-par season as a Culé

Memphis Depay arrived at FC Barcelona as one of the great stars of Ligue 1 in recent years, many expectations had been placed on him, but the truth is that he has not reached his full potential in the Camp Nou, either by injuries or physical downturns during this season. 

The Dutch player has not been a difference maker and it seems that his style of play does not fit with what Xavi Hernandez wants to shape next season. This makes him a fairly expendable player and if they can get good money for him Barcelona would be happy to sell, especially to help in their financial woes.
