Nicolo Zaniolo, an attacking midfielder for AS Roma, may not be available to Liverpool this summer since Juventus is prepared to make a serious move for him. One of the most promising young players in Serie A, Zaniolo captured the attention of many during last season's European campaign.

Juventus has made contact with Roma to start negotiations for a transfer of the 22 year-old, who spent much of the 2021–22 season playing on the right wing under Jose Mourinho. The Old Lady are prepared to step up their pursuit, and talks over his prospective signing are still underway.

Juventus has a long-standing interest in Zaniolo that is only now being formalized, and Roma is willing to accept an offer surpassing €40 million. The Bianconeri may find it difficult to overcome the asking price, that is why Massimiliano Allegri would be willing to sweeten the deal by using Brazilian player Arthur Melo.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur allegedly joined AC Milan and Juventus in keeping tabs on Zaniolo's status earlier this summer, according to Italian media. But if they want to move through with a potential transition, the Italians appear to be in control.

Klopp looking to prepare for possible changes

While Mohamed Salah's future at Anfield is uncertain, Jurgen Klopp may be looking for a replacement right winger. Salah may leave the Reds in a year when his contract expires, following Sadio Mane who left this summer. Additionally, Zaniolo's versatility as a right-sided player and his offensive presence in central midfield would definitely be an appeal to Klopp.
