It's official. Matías Almeyda became a free agent after the San José Earthquakes announced his departure, after having been there for the last three seasons.

In a press release, the Earthquakes announced the decision. Almeyda's last game in charge of the club ended in a 2-2 draw against Nashville.

During his time at the California club, Matias Almeyda was known for bringing Mexican players such as Oswaldo Alanis, Carlos Fierro, and Javier 'Chofis' Lopez, among others.

In his time with the Earthquakes, Matías Almeyda coached 103 matches in which he recorded 33 wins, 25 draws, and 45 defeats. In the 2022 season, he was unable to win any match.
