This day the news broke out that the San Jose Earthquakes have been left without a coach, but what other teams could Matías Almeyda join if Chivas doesn't get him?

Matías Almeyda wants to return to Chivas, but he’s requesting to acquire a top striker

While the news of his departure from the Quakes has not been confirmed by the club or the coach, the foreign press has speculated about his possible destinations.

And undoubtedly his return to Liga MX is the most longed for by the fans of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, who dream that the coach will come back to Chivas and make them live another golden era, as when he was with them from 2015 to 2018.

And everything seems to indicate that Almeyda's return to Chivas is possible, given that the club has just fired its previous coach Marcelo Michel Leaño, while "El Pelado" has just resigned from the SJ Earthquakes.

However, the Rebaño Sagrado is not going through a good economic moment and bringing back the Argentinean coach seems somewhat complicated, as he is paid close to 2.5 million dollars a year.

Therefore, if Chivas cannot hire him, there are more clubs lining up that are dying to have "Pelado" as coach and he has even been linked to national teams that want him.

These are the other teams that Matías Almeyda could join if Chivas cannot get him

Club América

The hated and eternal rival of Chivas is currently playing the tournament with an interim coach, Fernando Ortiz, who has undoubtedly done better than Santiago Solari.

However, it is a fact that the Águilas need a winning head coach like Almeyda, who knows Mexican soccer very well.

Furthermore, the Azulcremas would have no problem hiring him since money has never been a problem for the club.

León

The Guanajuato club is not going through its best moment, although for now they have the opportunity to fight for reclassification and go to the Liguilla, however, both the fans and the board of directors are starting to get impatient.

Almeyda would be a great addition to the team, so that it can finally stop surviving and return to the place of honor it had a few years ago in Mexican soccer.

The Chilean national soccer team

But not only in Mexico they want "Pelado", since it has been rumored for months that Almeyda has caused interest in the Chilean national soccer team, since they did not qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022, so a change of process would be necessary.

And in this change the idea would be to bring a new coach to help the Chileans to work with the goal of the next World Cup, so Matias Almeyda would be an option for Arturo Vidal's team.

Colombia's national soccer team

It has already been confirmed that the Colombian national team is without a coach, since Reinaldo Rueda was dismissed from his post after the Colombians failed to qualify to the World Cup.

Therefore, the position is vacant and Almeyda would be an option for this national team, which is looking to get back on track for the next World Cup, and with Almeyda's ability to understand South American teams, his incorporation to this team would be a great idea.
