Carlos Vela’s return to El Tri Will make this player step down

That’s why Carlos Vela’s name has started to be linked with Mexico National Team, as the right-winger not only is one of the best Mexican players available -he’s established himself as Los Angeles FC captain-, but also plays on the same position as “Chucky” Lozano.

Gerardo Martino is considering calling him, as Vela is more than aware of the way US Soccer works, given that El Tri will face USMNT in March, but in order to make his return to El Tri, Vela will request Martino to stop calling Guillermo Ochoa, as he knows there’s better goalkeepers in Mexico.
