Televisa might be behind the absence of Marcelo Flores in Mexico National Team
Diego Lainez will take his spot on El Tri.
Marcelo Flores is having a breakout season that might soon earn him a spot with Arsenal senior team, not only because with just 18 years he already made himself a regular with Arsenal U-23 squad, but also because he regularly trains with Mikel Arteta.
His absence from Mexico National Team squad for the upcoming matches they’ll have against Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panamá, in a FIFA window match that might be decisive for El Tri’s aspirations to reach 2022 FIFA World Cup without issues, is a surprise for everyone.
But Televisa might be the reason behind his absence from Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s list, as they would rather prefer having Diego Lainez in his spot, even though he hasn’t played with Real Betis during the current season, as Lainez was boosted by the multi mass-media company during his time with Club América.
Diego Lainez numbers with Real Betis
The 21-year-old right-winger has played a total of 9 games in the current season with Real Betis, although only 4 of them were in La Liga. He’s yet to be part of the starting squad for los Béticos, as he’s only played a total of 72 minutes as a substitute.
