Jesús Manuel 'Tecatito' Corona made his debut for Sevilla when he came on as a substitute in the Andalusian derby against Real Betis in the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.

Tecatito' came on at the 66th minute in place of Rafa Mir at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. The Aztec international was positioned as a right-winger to make use of his speed and the good technique he possesses.

Just as Corona arrived, he made his debut with the team

Corona recently arrived in Sevilla last Thursday and on Friday was officially presented with the Spanish team, which he joined for just over 4 million dollars and for three and a half seasons after his time with Porto of Portugal.

As he had game rhythm and was in good physical shape, 'Tecatito' passed the medical exams and was immediately called up by Lopetegui for the Seville Derby in the Copa del Rey, a clash in which he met Diego Lainez and Andrés Guardado, Betis players.

However, his debut waited at least a few hours longer than expected, as the game kicked off on Saturday, but a fan threw an object at Sevilla defender Joan Jordán, which hit him in the face and caused the match to be suspended after a 1-1 draw.

This led the Royal Spanish Football Federation to suspend the match and resume it this Sunday behind closed doors at the Benito Villamarín Stadium.

Betis wins derby against Sevilla (2-1) and qualifies for Copa del Rey quarterfinals

Betis qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey after beating Sevilla 2-1. It took two days to know the final result of the match. In the first half, Papu Gomez and Fekir scored two great goals that were only marred by the action against Jordan. After the game was suspended and restarted, although, with an empty stadium, the Betis were more effective in the final meters, and thanks to a goal by Canales they won the tie.

The match resumed with the stands empty and with part of the first half still to play where Juanmi scored but was disallowed for offside. In the second half, the game became more even and the spaces in the attack were reduced.

Betis was a little more in tune in the final meters and that's how the goal came. William Carvalho opened up Canales and the latter, with great temperance, had time to decide. The Betis player, with almost no angle, took a cross-shot to make it 2-1.

Sevilla's reaction was somewhat weak. Only Koundé came close to equalizing with a shot against the crossbar. Little more was seen from Lopetegui's team. Betis knew how to keep the result and with it qualify for the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey in a match that will go down in history for many factors.
