With the upcoming CONCACAF Qualifiers match window around the corner, a lot of players are raising the hand to be considered by Gerardo “Tata” Martino to be part of the roster that Mexico National Team will have to face the last stage before Qatar 2022.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernández hasn’t given up on the hope of returning to El Tri and play a game with the Aztec squad again, as he hasn’t been part of a call since 2019 and giving the good momentum he’s having with LA Galaxy, Martino might not have another choice than giving him a new chance.

But until that happens, Raúl Jiménez keeps showing why he is the best Mexican striker nowadays, even if he isn’t on a scoring streak like the one he had before getting injured, as he managed to open the score for Wolves on their game against Watford FC.

The Wolves only needed eight minutes to secure the three points, as they scored three goals in that span of time, and although Jiménez only scored the first goal, his presence on the pitch was essential to give the Wanderers the comfortable victory.

What’s the lesson he taught “Chicharito”?

Jiménez has been praised for being a lethal striker, especially when there’s a penalty kick, as he’s only failed four out of the 34 penalty kicks he has shoot in his professional career, including the one that gave El Tri the victory against Panama on the last FIFA match window.

But Jiménez not only helps his team by scoring, but he also helps in the creation of the plays and being part of the collective work, something that “Chicharito” lacks, as the only way he manages to help his team is inside the box.

Will Gerardo Martino give Hernández a new opportunity?

Reports suggest that the Argentine coach has been in contact with the 33-year-old forward, but in order to have Javier Hernández in Mexico National Team, he’s asking that “Chicharito” apologizes to his teammates, and everyone involved in FMF for the scandal he was part of in 2019.

Martino knows he needs a striker with the abilities of “Chicharito” as something that El tri has been missing in their recent matches is a forward that is on a scoring streak, given that neither Henry Martín nor Rogelio Funes Mori have proved that they can be that striker.
