After the elimination of PSG from Champions League by an outstanding comeback from Real Madrid with a hat-trick of Karim Benzema in the second leg of the round of 16, it was clear that the project PSG were trying to build with Lionel Messi as one of their stars have failed.

Hirving Lozano knows who is the striker that Mexico National Team needs

Since his arrival in Ligue 1 at the beginning of this season, Lionel Messi has played just 17 games of the 26 possible matches PSG has had this season, although he has started in just 15 games, showing that his performances have significantly dropped from what he was used to do in FC Barcelona.

When Nasser Al-Khelaïfi decided to sign him, he did it with only one thing in mind: winning the Champions League. With that project now in the trash, PSG is already looking to part ways with the Argentine striker and having a fresh start.

That could happen as soon as the next season starts, as they are already looking for potential replacements, and one of them turns to be a Mexican player that hasn’t stopped impressing since he arrived.

Who is the Mexican player in PSG’s radar?

According to reports by the English newspaper The Sun, both PSG and FC Barcelona are monitoring the development of Marcelo Flores, as they know that he can be one of the best players in the future and they want to acquire him before his price skyrockets once he debuts with Arsenal senior squad.

For now, his market value is set at $660,000, but Arsenal won’t let him go for that price, although it seems difficult that the Gunners are going to sell him given the skills and abilities he has and the things he can provide for them.

For now, Flores keeps playing with the U-23 squad, where he debuted in January and has become a regular ever since, waiting for his opportunity to debut with the senior squad, something that might happen soon given that Mikel Arteta usually calls him to train with them.

His contract expires at the end of the 2022-23 season, but Arsenal has the option of extending it for two more years, something they’ll probably do given that he’s usually involved in the scoreboard, as he’s scored six goals and has assisted two times.
