The defeat against Real Madrid in Champions League in the round of 16 marked Lionel Messi and PSG’s season, as the Parisian club had reinforced to finally succeed in the most important European tournament and, once again, they couldn’t achieve their goal.

He finally understood and won’t play with Mexico National Team in Qatar 2022

For the 2021-22 season, PSG signed Georginio Wijnaldum, Danilo Pereira, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Leo Messi to strengthen the squad and at last win their first Champions League as well as regaining the title of Ligue 1 that they lost last season against Lille OSC.

But now that they only have chances of winning Ligue 1, they already started planning next season, as they still are planning on pursuing the Champions League until they manage to win it, something they almost did two seasons ago, when they were runners-up. Bayern Munich ended up winning it with a 1-0 victory.

But for the 2022-23 season, the Parisians are starting to dive into the market, as they know that they still need to add some players and take advantage of the last year of contract that Leo Messi has with them, which is why they are pursuing the addition of a player that he recommended.

Who is the player that Messi wants in PSG?

Although his stint with PSG has been gray, contrary to what he did with FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi still has the talent that made him one of the best players in the world and PSG knows that he can show it at any time, that’s why they want to give him as more chances as possible to finally breakout.

One of the ways they’re trying to do that is by surrounding him with players that he feels comfortable playing with, like Luka Romero, who Messi met during the Argentina camp in the last FIFA match window, where the Lazio right-winger had his first experience with the first team.

Although the 17-year-old Mexican Argentine didn’t debut, he got the chance of showing his talent to players like Messi, who was impressed with him and now wants to have the opportunity to instruct him while also sharing the pitch.

Can he play for Mexico?

Even if he already had his first call with Argentina, Romero has yet to debut in an official match, which gives the Mexican national team and Gerardo “Tata” Martino the opportunity of convincing him of wearing El Tri colors, although it looks almost impossible given that he’s fully committed with the Albiceleste.
