Since Nicolás Larcamón arrived in Club Puebla for Clausura 2021, La Franja has become a protagonist in Liga MX for the first time in over a decade, when José Luis “Chelis” Sánchez Solá helped them return to Mexico’s top flight in 2007 and reached the semifinals in 2009.

Bayern Munich is interested in the next Mexican gem

After three seasons in La Franja dugout, Larcamón has helped them reach the semifinals on his first tournament, quarterfinals on his second, and for Clausura 2022, Club Puebla has been leader for four straight weeks, a record for the Camoteros since the short tournaments were installed.

Although Gerardo “Tata” Martino was able to win two out of the three games disputed on the past FIFA match window and saved a draw on the remainder game, his decisions as coach of Mexico National Team keeps raising questions.

In FMF they know that the way El Tri plays is not the best, and even if their poor performances have been enough to have the Aztec squad one step away from reaching the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they are aware that El Tri won’t be able to pass the stage group if they don’t improve soon, that’s why they’re trying to convince Larcamón to take over the challenge.

Will Larcamón leave Puebla and join El Tri?

When Nicolás Larcamón was asked about the rumors placing him in Mexico National Team, he said that it would be a dream to coach a National Team like El Tri, as they’re usually contender in the tournaments they play, but for now, he’s focused on Club Puebla and El Tri is in good hands with Martino on the bench.

But if FMF decided to part ways with Martino, the only thing that stands between them and La Franja’s coach is a release clause of $900,000, a sum that they most likely will pay if they want to have the newest Liga MX gem for Qatar 2022.

Interest of other Liga MX clubs

Given the results that Larcamón has achieved with the roster with the lowest market value in Liga MX, not only El Tri has shown interest in him, but also teams like Club América, CF Monterrey and even Chivas, as they’re going through different crises.

In Club Puebla they know about the interest that Larcamón has gathered, but they trust that the Argentinean coach will fulfill his contract before he decides to leave. But even if Larcamón is under contract until the end of 2022, in Puebla they’re already thinking of ways to keep him in Estadio Cuauhtémoc for a long time.
