This doubt has fans of Gerardo Martino's team worried, as Lozano is one of the players on the squad that can really be a factor against the Stars and Stripes

Can Chucky Lozano start on the 23rd in the CONCACAF qualifiers at the Azteca Stadium?

Everything indicates that at least the player is physically ready to participate in the match, but it is still not certain that he will start the game, as Martino probably wants to keep him safe.

Although the player returned to the field yesterday in Serie A with Napoli, in his team's 2-1 victory over Hellas Verona, it is still not certain that he will start the match against the Stars and Stripes.

It should be remembered that Lozano's shoulder injury was quite complicated to heal and that it occurred on February 2, so the Mexican spent almost 6 weeks recovering.

Therefore, although the Mexican has already played with Napoli, it is still not certain that Martino wants him to start the match, to avoid risking him, but he will have to decide how to face the USMNT.

If this match had taken place 10 years ago, there really would be no concern for the Mexican national team, but now the context is different and Mexico is no longer the giant of Concacaf.

Now that title is in dispute between the United States and Canada. Therefore, Martino will have to decide what is more important for the match: risk Lozano or risk the ticket to Qatar 2022 at the Azteca Stadium.

It would not be the first time Martino decides not to risk a player

It is worth remembering that something similar happened with Raúl Jiménez in the previous part of the Concacaf qualifiers, since he was coming back from injury, Gerardo Martino preferred that he not play against Jamaica and Costa Rica.

For that reason, the Mexican wolf saw action until the match against Panama, in which he scored the penalty kick that allowed the Mexican national team to win that game.

And despite the good performance of the Mexican national soccer team in that match, it must be remembered that the team is in third place in the World Cup Qualifiers.

With 21 points and tied with the USMNT, Gerardo Martino's team needs to beat the Stars and Stripes, Honduras, and El Salvador to secure its ticket to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022.
