This would be the Mexican National Team's schedule for this summer

They faced each other last weekend in “El Tráfico” the LA derby that has become on of the most passionate derbies in MLS, where the Galaxy was victorious thanks to a goal scored by “Chicharito” Hernández, who gave the 2-1 victory over the Black & Gold.

That doesn’t mean that Vela didn’t have an outstanding performance, as he scored two goals that were canceled due to being in offside and then thanks to his shot, Cristian “Chicho” Arango scored the only goal of LAFC. He also assisted Latif Blessing in what would have meant the 2-2 draw, but the goal was canceled again.

Both Vela and Hernández are on the mix to win the golden boot, as “El Bombardero” has scored four goals and “Chicharito” has scored five in the 2022 MLS Season, but that hasn’t been enough for Gerardo “Tata” Martino to consider them for Mexico National Team.

They’re willing to return

Even if Vela announced over a month ago his retirement from El Tri, he knows that Qatar 2022 is the World Cup where they can arrive in the best shape of their lives, which is why he’s willing to return to El Tri under two conditions.

He also shares the first one with Javier Hernández, as they are part of the group of players that were unhappy with the way FMF awarded the prizes to the roster that played in Russia 2018, where they even labeled as troublemakers for not abide to the status quo.

That’s why they’re requesting that Gerardo Martino stops calling two of the players that are considered as leaders in the locker room, as Andrés Guardado and Guillermo Ochoa are known for disliking Vela and Hernández, and even have blocked their return to El Tri on several occasions.

Vela’s second request

The second thing that Vela is asking for return to El Tri is that Martino softens his strict discipline measurements, as the Mexican players are prohibited to see their families during El Tri camps to avoid getting distracted, something that doesn’t align with Carlos Vela’s lifestyle.
