Now that the season is coming to an end, teams already started planning the 2022-23 season, especially the ones that are out of the battle for the title, like Wolverhampton Wanderers, who currently stand eight in Premier League.

Wolves have been lacking an offensive trio like they used to do a few seasons ago, when Diego Jota, Raúl Jiménez and Adama Traoré helped them reach the UEFA Europa League in the 2019-20 season and were close to making it into the Champions League a season after.

But since they sold Diogo Jota to Liverpool, added to the head injury that prevented Raúl Jiménez to play for over nine months and then the departure of Traoré to FC Barcelona, their offensive power has been diminished.

It’s true that the additions of Pedro Neto, Francisco Trincão, Fabio Silva and even Chiquinho have helped them maintaining consistency, but nothing as close as the scoring streak the had on their return to Premier League, which is why they know they need to strengthen the position.

Wolves are after Hirving Lozano

After it was announced that Hirving “Chucky” Lozano will be transferable and that Napoli intends to sell him given that he’s not of the likes of Luciano Spalletti, several teams have been linked to the Mexico international.

But one that has more probabilities of acquiring the 26-year-old are Premier League side Wolves, even if they are not one of the top teams of the English top flight, the offer of uniting two thirds of the Mexican starting offense is an offer that Lozano can’t let pass.

His addition to Wolves couldn’t arrive at a better time, just months before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Lozano and Jiménez will have enough time to continue building chemistry that will benefit both them and Mexico National Team.

Will he arrive at Wolves?

Even if he didn’t intend to leave to a club with the same or lower hierarchy than Napoli., the attractiveness of playing with Jiménez could be the thing that convinces “Chucky”, although Wolves will have to pay at least $38 million for him if they want to have a Mexican offense for next season.
