During an interview, Dinho said how impressed he was with Orbelín Pineda’s abilities, but now, almost seven years later, an Argentinian coach is threatening his career by keeping him on the bench, even though he’s been praised by one of the best players and the international press.

Now that “El Maguito” is part of Mexico National Team roster, his coach in Celta de Vigo, Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet, said that he didn’t ask for Pineda’s addition, that it was the club’s decision on acquiring him, letting know that he don’t trust the Mexican and could be benched just as Miguel Herrera or José Juan Macías.

Orbelín Pineda’s numbers with Cruz Azul

Prior joining Celta de Vigo as a free agent, where he has yet to debut, the 25-year-old left-winger played for Liga MX side Cruz Azul for 113 games, since joining La Máquina in 2019. During his stint with Los Cementeros, Pineda scored 13 goals and assisted 16 times.
