It’s clear that Mexico National Team needs help on the offensive side, especially after their exhibition they gave on Kingston, where they barely managed to obtain a victory in the last minutes of the game, with goals of Henry Martín and Alexis Vega.
This is the reason why Mexican players disappear when playing in CONCACAF
The absence of Raúl Jiménez and Hirving Lozano was noticeable, but that doesn’t take away responsibility from Gerardo Martino, who decided to start Rogelio Funes Mori, arguably one of the worst players for El Tri that game.
On the current squad, Martino doesn’t have a player that could complement -or replace, if needed- Raúl Jiménez, but the Argentinian coach keeps erasing players like Javier “Chicharito” Hérnández, who had an outstanding 2021 MLS Season with LA Galaxy.
Hernández hasn’t played a game with El Tri since 2019, the year before he arrived in MLS. In two seasons with the Galaxy, the 33-year-old striker has played a total of 33 games, scoring 19 goals and three assistances.
Even Ronaldinho knows how good of a player, but his coach has decided to bench him
