It’s no lie to say that Javier “Chicharito” Hernández is one of the best active strikers that Mexico has, as he’s scored two goals in the four games he’s played for Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2022 MLS Season, added to the 17 he scored last season.

But not even his good shape has earned him a call to play for Mexico National Team, something he hasn’t done since 2019, on a friendly match against USMNT that El Tri won by a 3-0 score with one goal from “Chicharito” himself.

But after that game, Gerardo “Tata” Martino decided to erase him from any future calls when he was made aware that Hernández was caught sneaking women into the hotel where El Tri were staying before the players return to their teams.

Martino is known for imposing a strict discipline on every team he coaches, which is why “Chicharito” Hernández won’t be wearing El Tri colors anytime soon, although if “Tata” realizes that there’s a better striker than him playing in Liga MX, he might have to retire from the Aztec squad just like Vela did.

Who is the player that’s better than “Chicharito”?

Club Querétaro has one of the best 60 prospects in soccer, according to the English journal The Guardian, who tagged the 18-year-old forward Jesús Hernández in a group of young players that have the potential to become the next superstars.

Hernández shares the list with different players from Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and even Luka Romero, the Mexican Argentine player that will make his debut with Argentina National Team in the upcoming FIFA match window.

Can Martino call him to the senior squad?

Although Hernández already debuted in Liga MX last year, he has yet to establish as a regular player in Gallos Blancos before he is considered by Gerardo Martino to be a player worth of being part of his roster, as he usually doesn’t call young players.

For now, Hernández is part of El Tri academy teams, as he’s currently playing with the U-20 squad, but he’s also been part of the U-15 and U-17 teams. Even Adolfo Ríos, former Querétaro sporting director, said that they know he’s one of the most promising players in Liga MX, but they won’t rush his growth, as they know he needs to follow a process according to his age.
