Héctor Herrera is one of the most renowned Mexican players nowadays, but it’s no lie to say that his current situation in Atlético Madrid has made him lost his shape and a bit of the confidence he used to have when he was on the pitch.

After a successful stint with FC Porto, where he was a fan favorite and captain of the Dragões Azuis, he joined La Liga side Atlético Madrid hoping to elevate his game and becoming a regular in one of La Liga’s best teams, something he managed to do and even became champion with Los Colchoneros.
But in the current season, Herrera was erased from Diego “Cholo” Simeone squad, as he’s only played on 9 La Liga games and most of them as a substitute. His calling to El Tri has been questioned after the lack of playing time he has in Madrid, but now ho knows what he will do.

Héctor Herrera ends his contract with Atlético Madrid this season, meaning he’ll be able to sign as a free agent with any team he wants in the summer, and his stay in Madrid seems to be coming to an end. Reports suggest that Herrera will be joining Valencia CF, where he’ll try to gain regularity again just in time to play FIFA World Cup.
