Mexico National Team is going to receive USMNT in Estadio Azteca on March 24 for the first game of the last CONCACAF Qualifiers match window, on a game that will be decisive for the standings in CONCACAF, as the winner will secure their assistance in Qatar 2022.

The conditions that FMF has for Nicolás Larcamón to arrive in Mexico National Team

Gerardo “Tata” Martino knows that he needs the best available players Mexico has to face the Bars and Stripes and guarantee their assistance to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is why he’s considering stop calling players like Luis "Chaka" Rodríguez, who hasn’t been playing at the level needed to be part of El Tri.

The Aztec squad will also visit Honduras on March 27 and then will end their participation against El Salvador on March 30 in Estadio Azteca, hoping to have secured their ticket when they return to Mexican soil.

That’s why “Tata” Martino is considering calling Alan Mozo to Mexico National Team again, as the only right-back that El Tri currently has is the 20-year-old LA Galaxy defender Julián Araujo, who hasn’t fully convinced Martino given his young age.

Why hasn’t Martino called Alan Mozo?

The 24-year-old right-back has become one of the most regular players from Pumas UNAM in the past few seasons, and he has even been the captain on several occasions, showing that not only he has the experience needed to be part of El Tri but he’s also a leader on the pitch.

Martino already called him on two occasions in 2019 -a friendly match against Trinidad y Tobago and a game from the CONCACAF Nations League against Panama-0, where he even was a starter and played the 90 minutes, but nothing transpired after that.

According to reports, he wasn’t mature enough, something that Martino needs, as he values experience over youth, and after he was allegedly involved in a fight with former U-23 coach Jaime Lozano, when he was informed he wasn’t going to be part of the squad that played in Tokyo, he was banned from any national team until now, as Martino knows of his quality and is in need of a new right-back.

Alan Mozo’s numbers with Pumas

Mozo debuted with Pumas in 2015 in a Copa MX match but had to wait until 2017 to get his debut in Liga MX. Since 2018, he’s been a regular in Pumas starting XI, where he’s played a total of 147 games for Los Universitarios, scoring one goal and assisting on 24 occasions.
