Mexico National Team will face USMNT on March 24 on what will be played as a final, given that the result of that game will define the standings of CONCACAF Qualifiers, as they’re tied with 21 points each.

If Javier Hernández doesn’t return to Mexico National Team, they already have his replacement

The Bars and Stripes have the advantage both on the statistics and recent history, as they have a goal difference of +9 goals, against the +6 that El Tri has. They’ve also won the last three encounters between both National Teams.

But USMNT will arrive in Estadio Azteca with two sensible absences, as Weston McKennie, who currently is the best American in Europe won’t be part of Gregg Berhalter’s roster as he got injured in the round of 16 of Champions League against Villarreal. Gio Reyna is still questionable, as he also got injured while playing for Borussia Dortmund.

Gerardo “Tata” Martino knows he has to take advantage of those absences and finally end with the recent hegemony of the Bars and Stripes over El Tri, which is why he is considering stop calling players that have damaged the Aztec squad’s performances in the past.

Luis “Chaka” Rodríguez, the first sacrificed

Although it seems impossible that either USMNT or El Tri will be able to end the Qualifiers as leaders, given that Canada MNT has 4 more points than both and a goal difference of +14, the pressure will be higher for either of the teams that loses the game.

According to Sancadilla Norte, that’s why “Tata” Martino won’t take any chances that could jeopardize the game and has decided to not call Luis “Chaka” Rodríguez, as the Tigres right-back has constantly mistaken when he wears El Tri colors.

Who could replace “Chaka” Rodríguez?

The obvious choice to fill the spot of Rodríguez in the starting XI of Martino is the LA Galaxy right-back Julián Araujo, who already was called by Martino in the past FIFA match window and played a few minutes substituting “Chaka”, leaving a good impression in Gerardo Martino.
