Alejandro Zendejas made the decision to play for the United States National Team, it was a complicated choice for the Club América player but in a letter he explained his reasons for rejecting the Mexican National Team.

The coach of the Mexican National Team, Diego Cocca, tried to convince Zendejas to represent Mexico, his work was not good and he failed, now the National Team lost a player who will become a great rival because he plays with the United States.

Zendejas received support from several of his teammates from the América club, these were Emilio Lara, Richard Sánchez, Roger Martínez and Luis Ángel Malagón. This action shows that there is a very good union in his team.

The FMF tried to convince Zendejas not to choose the United States, but the problems he had with coach Gerardo Martino before the Qatar 2022 World Cup and Yon de Luisa were a big factor in him rejecting Mexico.

Yon de Luisa was the real culprit

Yon de Luisa has been widely criticized for mishandling the case of Alejandro Zendejas, the press accuses the manager of being responsible for the Mexican National Team losing a great player and who will now represent the United States.
