Who is Alfonso Alvarado?

Jose Alfonso Alvarado Perez is a Mexican professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Monterrey in Liga MX, and today he was finally taken into account by Victor Manuel Vucetich to start against Pachuca

"El Plátano" is 22 years old and was born on March 15, 2000, making him one of the Nuevo León club's promising young players, whose starting lineup had been requested by many Rayados fans.

The striker, who grew up in the home of La Pandilla, stood out in the 2017 Apertura, as he was Top Scorer Champion in the Fuerzas Básicas category of Mexican soccer.

In the 2017 Clausura, he won the U-17 Championship, scoring in the first leg and in the second leg of the Final against Pumas.

And he fulfilled the dream of every young player to debut with the first team in the 2-1 win against Lobos BUAP in the Apertura 2018, and since then he has participated in 1 Liga BBVA MX match and 4 Copa MX matches.

Another of his achievements was in the Clausura 2021, in which he was a key player for Rayados U-20 to win the Championship of the category, scoring one of the two albiazules goals in the second leg of the Final against Pachuca.

Alfonso Alvarado made his debut as a starter with Monterrey and social networks exploded

The debut of this young promise of the Rayados was long-awaited by a large part of their fans and they made it known on the club's social networks when it was announced that Alvarado would start.

Many internet users pointed out that this is a great opportunity for "El Plátano" to show all his talent, although some fans pointed out that he is not being put in his natural position, which is as a second striker when in this match against Pachuca he was put on the field as a winger.

However, everything seems to indicate that the demands of many Rayados fans were heard and finally, they can see "Plátano" as a starter, although it remains to be seen if Alvarado responds to the high expectations that have been formed around him.
