Santiago Solari will be leaving Club América if they lose against Pumas

Las Águilas also saved a point on the opening match of the season against Club Puebla when they visited Estadio Cuauhtémoc. On that game Santiago Solari was sent off after running across the field to argue with the referee, as he didn’t agree with the decision of calling a foul.

That was the first sign in which was evident that thing inside Las Águilas dressing room weren’t working as they used to just a couple months before. Since then, Solari has looked irritable every time he’s asked about their performances and his future in América.

But the team has also seen their performances diminished, and even look worried and without confidence during every match, which has led in recurrent mistakes that have marked their participation in the second leg of the 2021-22 Liga MX Season.

Will Solari end the season with América?

That’s why Emilio Azcárraga is considering ceasing Santiago Solari, although he’ll wait until the game in Ciudad Universitaria is over, as the result of the match against Pumas will be the one that decides the future of the Argentine coach.

If Club América doesn’t win and convince with their performance on Saturday night, they won’t have Solari on the dugout against Querétaro on Tuesday night, although Azcárraga is already looking to replace Solari as soon as possible, and Matías Almeyda, an old acquaintance of Liga MX, has been linked to Las Águilas.

What is Matías Almeyda asking to arrive in El Nido?

Matías Almeyda has said multiple times that he wants to return to Liga MX, although he wishes to do it with Chivas. But the truth is that Amaury Vergara hasn’t considered the possibility of having Almeyda back, something that the current San José Earthquakes coach is aware of.

Almeyda still has 10 months left on his contract with the Quakes, and even if he has been vocal about not agreeing with the decisions and the way the ownership built the squad, he will finish his contract before deciding where he’ll continue his career.
