America to play Manchester City in the United States, when will tickets be available?

On Monday morning, the Club América’s social media informed that on June 20 they will face Manchester City in the Lone Star Cup, a preseason game that will be held at NRG Stadium, in Houston, Texas.

The news arrives after the 2-0 victory over Tigres in Estadio Universitario, a game that solidify the work that Fernando “Tano” Ortíz has done since he took over Las Águilas, especially since it was against Miguel Herrera ‘s team, one of the most consistent squads in Clausura 2022.

Although the game will serve as a match to start getting into speed for the new season, it will also help Pep Guardiola to eye a few of Las Águilas players that could make the jump to Europe in the next few transfer windows.

Who are the players that Guardiola should look into?

One of the players that has had an outstanding season since “El Tano” arrived at Las Águilas dugout is Diego Valdés, who joined Club América in the current season out of Santos Laguna. The 28-year-old Chilean has scored five goals and four assistances so far.

The second player that has the level to play in Europe is Alejandro Zendejas, as the 24-year-old is a polyvalent player that can play in the midfield or as a left-winger. So far, he’s scored four games in the last six matches, being one of the biggest contributors to the current streak of América.

Finally, Álvaro Fidalgo, who has been one of the most consistent players in Las Águilas since he arrived at the start of the 2021-22 season, could find his way back to Europe thanks to Guardiola. Even if he’s scored only two goals in Clausura 2022, his participation in the creation and possession is what makes him invaluable.

How much will the Citizens have to pay for the three of them?

According to Transfermarkt, the current market values of the three América players is of $14 million, a sum more than affordable if the Citizens were to buy the three of them. Álvaro Fidalgo’s market value is set at $4.3 million, while Alejandro Zendejas is at $3.2 million. Diego Valdés is the highest valued of the three at $6.5 million.
