Alexis Vega hasn’t stopped playing at the highest level since Clausura 2022 started, as he’s scored three goals in the four matches Chivas have played this year, including an authentic ‘golazo’ in the 3-1 victory over Juárez FC. If that wasn’t enough, he also gave Mexico National Team the victory against Jamaica after scoring a stunning goal.

His current performances have made sure that he stays in Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s radar, as he surely be part of the roster that faces USMNT in March, and he might even be the starter given that Hirving Lozano won’t be available for that game. And after what he showed in the match against Juárez FC, is clear that he can play in any offensive position.

But that’s not the only thing that he proved on Wednesday night, as he also sent a message to José Juan Macías, who has yet to debut with Chivas after his late addition for Clausura 2022, given that Getafe FC rescinded his contract, but now JJ Macías knows that earning his place in El Rebaño’s starting XI won’t be easy.

When will JJ Macías debut with Chivas?

The 21-year-old striker wasn’t part of the players that travelled to Ciudad Juárez, as he still has to get in shape given that the last time he played was in November, where he was subbed after only 24 minutes on the pitch.

Reports suggest that he might be ready for Clausura 2022 fifth round, when Chivas will receive Tigres UANL in Estadio Akron, although with the current performances of Alexis Vega and Ángel Zaldívar, he’ll have to work hard if he wants to have a chance on Marcelo Michel Leaño’s starting XI, something that won’t happen soon.
