Chivas got everyone’s hopes up after the 3-0 victory they got over Mazatlán FC in the opening match of Clausura 2022, but ever since they have done nothing more than disappointing their followers, as mistakes have been the only constant thing in their games.

Even after knowing they needed new players to face Clausura 2022 after being eliminated by Club Puebla in Repechaje in Apertura 2021, Marcelo Michel Leaño decided to only acquire Roberto Alvarado, who was traded from Cruz Azul for Uriel Antuna and Alejandro Mayorga.

But now, even the players are getting tired of Michel Leaño, who arrived in Chivas right in the middle of Apertura 2021, and since then, he has just been able to win 3 games out of the 12 he has coached El Rebaño Sagrado. That’s why Josecarlos Van Rankin decided to leave Chivas, especially after knowing he’s not part of Michel Leaño’s plans.

What will happen to Van Rankin?

After playing the last two seasons in MLS with Portland Timbers, his loan ended after the 2021 MLS Season, but after knowing that Michel Leaño didn’t want him in El Rebaño, the 28-year-old right-back agreed to return to Portland on a six-month loan with the option to extend his stay until the end of season or making it a permanent move.
