Chivas was able to beat 3-1 Juárez FC on their visit to Ciudad Juárez for the round 4 of Clausura MX, but it’s clear that Alexis Vega is the only player in El Rebaño worried about actually playing soccer. It seems that his teammates weren’t on the same page as him, especially Gilberto Sepúlveda, who was sent off.

Although he started the game against Juárez FC as a forward instead of left-winger, where he usually plays, given the absence of Saldívar, as minutes passed by, he looked more comfortable on the pitch, especially at the end of the game, where there were more open spaces, and he was able to score the goal that ultimately meant the three points.

Alexis Vega started 2022 on a different level than the rest of his teammates. So far, he has scored 3 goals for Chivas in 4 games, that have translated into 7 points, and another one with El Tri, which gave the Aztec squad a much-needed victory against Jamaica on the first game of the past FIFA match window.

Can he arrive in Europe over the summer?

If he maintains the level he’s showed during the first six weeks of the year, it’s safe to say that Alexis Vega will gather interest from European teams, as the 24-year-old keeps impressing with his outstanding performances.

Teams like Porto FC, who just lost Luis Diaz and “Tecatito” Corona in the past transfer window, are looking to fill those spots on their roster, and Alexis Vega could be the answer to their needs, as he’s still young and has the potential and versatility to play in every attacking position.

His current market value is set at $7.5 million, a figure that Porto could definitely pay after earning $51.5 million for Díaz permanent move to Liverpool. If he doesn’t leave over the summer, he could negotiate as a free agent to arrive in any team he wants, as he’d become a free agent at the end of 2022.
