Club Puebla keeps surprising everyone with the outstanding season that they’re having for Clausura 2022, as they are still Liga MX leaders, a position they’ve been for five straight weeks, after they came from behind to win in Estadio Akron by a 3-2 score against Chivas.

Silently, Amaury Vergara already has found a buyer for Chivas

The first half of the game probably were the best 45 minutes of Chivas since Marcelo Michel Leaño arrived in El Rebaño, and they even made Club Puebla look bad, especially in the second goal, as they showed off the ball in the penalty box of La Franja.

But for the second half, El Rebaño returned to the same performances they’ve had in most of the games of Clausura 2022, which led to Club Puebla’s comeback that was crowned with the red card that Alexis Vega received for insulting the referee-

Marcelo Michel Leaño has now coached Chivas for 16 games, with just 4 of those games being victories, and although both him and Amaury Vergara deny that El Rebaño are going through a crisis, it’s clear that Chivas don’t have a solid plan to stick to throughout the 90 minutes.

What did Larcamón teach Michel Leaño?

In the press conferences after Chivas’ matches, Michel Leaño has blamed the fortune for the lack of positive results, but the truth is that they have a limited set of ideas and have to rely on individualities to score, instead of playing associative soccer.

On the contrary, Nicolás Larcamón has established a system based on the strengths of every player, which also relies in the adaptation of his squad in different positions, as outside of Antony Silva, every player in the roster has played in at least two different positions.

Larcamón has also found a way to motivate the players while building a strong bond with La Franja followers, something that Club Puebla was lacking in recent years and a problem that Chivas hasn’t found an answer to, as El Rebaño followers don’t like the way Chivas plays with Michel Leaño in the dugout.

Will Marcelo Michel Leaño end Clausura 2022 with Chivas?

Although Marcelo Michel Leaño is a close friend of Amaury Vergara, Chivas owner has multiple reasons to end Michel Leaño’s contract, especially after losing a game that looked secured after the first 45 minutes.

Michel Leaño could end the season in Chivas’ bench but, given that the promotion/relegation system will return to Liga MX the next season, El Rebaño could be involved in relegation problems if the bad results keep coming, something that Amaury Vergara wants to avoid at all costs.
