Since Amaury Vergara took over Chivas in 2019, he’s been severely criticized by his apparent lack of interest in the team, as he was usually seen travelling or throwing parties instead of focusing in the club, which is why they are in the crisis they now are.

Will Chivas be able to defeat Liga MX leader Club Puebla?

Although it seemed that after he decided to replace José Manuel Vucetich as Chivas coach amidst Apertura 2021 with Marcelo Michel Leaño, he was more involved with the day-to-day in Chivas facilities, but his attendance to both Super Bowl in Los Angeles and Tennis Mexican Open has revealed his lack of responsibility with the team.

The lack of a leader in Chivas that knows how to establish a project on the long-term is evident, not only with Amaury Vergara, but also with Chivas current coach, Marcelo Michel Leaño, as he lacks a plan to help Chivas get out of the bad streak he’s gotten them into.

And even if Vergara has said in the past that he doesn’t plan on selling the team, at least until he makes them Liga MX champions, the truth is that his lack of interest, added to the participation of other investors on the marketing side of Chivas, could help the team to have an owner actually interested in what happens to the team.

Who is already investing in Chivas that could buy the club?

Emilio Hank Talancón, son of Jorge Hank, who owns Grupo Caliente and Liga MX side Xolos de Tijuana, is one of Vergara’s closest relationships in the soccer world and given that he knows the challenges of having a Liga MX team and that he’s partaking in Chivas future, he’s the perfect candidate to acquire Chivas.

How is Chivas doing in Clausura 2022?

After six rounds of Clausura 2022, Chivas currently stand 9, away from the top part of the table and right in the middle of the places that grant access to Repechaje stage, were they were eliminated by Club Puebla last season, team that they’ll face this weekend for the seventh round of Liga MX.
