Club América has disappointed everyone with their recent performances, where they barely managed to save a 1-1 draw from Estadio Cuauhtémoc against current Liga MX leader Club Puebla, and then lost the remainder of the matches they’ve played so far.

And given that neither Santiago Baños, Club América chairman, nor Santiago Solari have achieved the expected results, Emilio Azcárraga, owner of the Club, already gave the Argentinian coach and all the players an ultimatum.

But people know that, as long as Baños maintains his position, Las Águilas won’t be able to win, as in the three years he’s been the chairman América hasn’t won a thing. Luckily for Las Águilas, there’s rumors suggesting that a Mexican businessman is interested in buying the club to return them to their former glory.

 

Who is the billionaire that could buy Las Águilas?

Alejandro Baillères currently holds a fortune worth $10 billion and has invested in the past in Club América as a sponsor, via GNP. He knows that Baños will be the first to leave once he buys the team, which is valued at $200 million, according to Forbes.
