Club América is still looking for a coach to take over the team after they parted ways with Santiago Solari a few weeks ago, when Club Querétaro managed to save a draw with a last-minute penalty kick in Estadio Azteca that tied the game of the round 8 of Clausura 2022.

Another player will arrive in Club América if Ricardo Ferretti becomes their coach

Since then, Las Águilas named Fernando “Tano” Ortíz, who was coaching the U-20 academy squad, as their interim coach, position that it seems he will keep for the remainder of the season, giving Santiago Baños and Emilio Azcárraga time to look for the best option to replace him.

Once the season is over, Ortíz will return to the U-20 squad and Las Águilas will have a new coach that will start planning the 2022-23 season as soon as he can, including the preseason workouts and the rebuilding of the squad.

For now, one of the favorite coaches to arrive in El Nido is Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, not only because he has the experience needed to coach a team like Club América, but also because he would arrive at 0 cost, given that his contract with FC Juárez expires at the end of the season.

He wouldn’t arrive alone

If Ferretti was to arrive in Club América, he won’t do it alone, as he knows that the current roster needs to be strengthened to be a real contender for the next Liga MX season, which is why he would request at least three players that were essential for him during his stint in Tigres.

The first of the players is Guido Pizarro, a player that could replace Pedro Aquino, who hasn’t been able to recover. Luis Quiñones could add the danger that Las Águilas have been missing in offense, and Diego Reyes could help improve the defense, as they’ve been lacking a good center back.

He’s not ready to retire

When Ferretti parted ways with Tigres, he did it looking for new challenges and hoping to win more Liga MX titles, something that with FC Juárez he’s far from achieving, which is why he is eager to leave Bravos and have a fresh start somewhere else.

He already notified Juárez owners, as they were trying to extend his contract, something that won’t happen as he even presented his resignation letter since last season. Ferretti is not ready to retire, which is why he is seriously considering arriving in Club América.
