It seems like things are starting to get better for Club América after they were able to get their second victory of the current season last weekend against Toluca, on what was the third game with Fernando “Tano” Ortíz in Las Águilas dugout.

Raúl Jiménez doesn’t close the door to returning to Club América soon

“Tano” Ortíz knew that the game against Los Diablos was the perfect opportunity to leave the bottom of the table and avoid creating tension in the locker room, and the roster answered as he expected, especially since they showed a great improvement from the performances they had with Santiago Solari.

The Azulcremas only needed 17 minutes to seal the victory, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have more opportunities for increasing their lead, but the lack of aim of Roger Martínez and Henry Martín prevented them from having a bulkier score sheet.

Both Fernando Ortíz and Emilio Azcárraga realized that Henry Martín shouldn’t be playing in Club América after his disappointing performance, which is why they already have a replacement for him, who will arrive prior the start of the 2022-23 season.

Who is the replacement of Henry Martín?

The young promising striker Luca Martínez Dupuy entered the radar of Club América after he stated that he wants to play in Liga MX, given that Mexico is the country where he was born, but if he was able to choose the team where he could arrive, he’d choose Club América.

The 20-year-old Mexican Argentine forward declined to play for the Argentina National Team as he already decided to play for Mexico National Team, where he’s been part of the U-20 and U-21 academy teams and is waiting for his call-up to the senior squad.

If Martínez Dupuy arrives in Club América, it would mean an instant upgrade from what Henry Martín has contributed to Las Águilas since his arrival in 2017, and given that he’s Mexican, he wouldn’t take a place of foreigner player in El Nido.

Luca Martínez Dupuy’s market value

The economic rights of Martínez Dupuy currently belong to Argentinean side Rosario Central, where he’s played since 2019. If Club América were to acquire the young striker, they would have to pay $800,000, an affordable sum that could become a good investment in the future.
