Another player will arrive in Club América if Ricardo Ferretti becomes their coach

Club América are still looking to sign a new coach after they decided to part ways with Santiago Solari, who couldn’t help Las Águilas leave the bottom of the table in the eight rounds he was in the Azulcrema’s dugout.

For now, Emilio Azcárraga and Santiago Baños decided to keep Fernando “Tano” Ortíz as their coach for the remainder of the season, given that he’s been able to improve the performances of Las Águilas in the three games he’s coach, especially in the 3-0 victory over CD Toluca.

And although it’s a temporary measure that is giving them results, they know that they still have to find a coach that will return them to the top of the table and make them contenders once again, which is why they’re trying to convince Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti to arrive for next season.

Ferretti currently is coaching FC Juárez, but his contract expires at the end of the season, and he doesn’t plan on renewing with Bravos, opening the door to his arrival in Club América, especially since he’s looking for a bigger challenge that what Bravos has been so far.

Along with André-Pierre Gignac, who Ferretti will try to convince to leave Los Felinos and join him once again, Jesús Dueñas wouldn’t doubt to follow the former Tigres coach, given that he was one of the most important players during Ferretti’s stint.

Dueñas still has a season and a half left on his contract, but since Miguel Herrera arrived in Los Felinos’ dugout, he has lost the protagonist role he had for the past nine seasons, which is why he’s looking for a new challenge.

Can Las Águilas acquire him?

One of the things that Ferretti is requesting to accept coaching Club América is having complete control over the sporting decisions, including the acquisition of new players, which opens the possibility of the arrival of Dueñas.

If Las Águilas were to acquire him, they will have to pay at least $2 million, his current market value according to Transfermarkt, although they might be able to negotiate with Tigres given that they’re looking to part ways with him.
