Club América will play tonight’s game as if it was a final, as they need to earn points if they want to leave the bottom of Liga MX table and have Santiago Solari as their coach for the upcoming games, as his future is hanging by a thread.

The Mexican that will benefit from Santiago Solari’s dismissal from Club América

That’s why Santiago Solari will start Alejandro Zendejas, who was Club América’s best player in the match against Pumas, even after Solari just gave him the added time to show why he was considered to have the level to play in a team like América.

Since his arrival in Club América after the second round of Clausura 2022, Zendejas started his first two games wearing Las Águilas colors, but since then, he hadn’t played more than 15 minutes, although the team became much more dangerous with him on the pitch.

Zendejas will take the place that Juan Ferney Otero used to have in Solari’s starting XI, as the former Santos Laguna right-winger hasn’t showed the skills for which he was considered to be part of Las Águilas, as Solari insisted on acquiring a right-winger.

What needs to happen for Solari to stay in Club América?

According to reports, Emilio Azcárraga gave the Argentine coach the chance of staying in Las Águilas for the next two matches, against Querétaro and Monterrey, although América will have to earn four out of the six available points to secure his place.

Club América has the chance of starting a good streak, as both Querétaro and Monterrey are teams that are also having problems to win in Liga MX, especially Rayados, who just sacked Javier Aguirre after he couldn’t make Monterrey a contender team, even if they have the roster with the highest value in Liga MX.

Who could replace Solari if they fail?

If Las Águilas lose either one of their games, Solari will have to leave his place in Club América, which will open the door to Gilberto Adame to step up, as he currently is part of Solari’s coaching staff, although he was placed there by Santiago Baños.
