Is Bruno Valdez trying to get Santiago Solari fired from Club América?

Guillermo Ochoa has been severely criticized for the mistakes he’s had in recent games, as he’s been important on the collapse of Las Águilas, as he hasn’t been able to have a clean sheet in the six rounds of Clausura 2022.

Although it’s true that América’s defense has been weak, to say the least, Ochoa has received at least two goals in every match, except for the opening game against Club Puebla, but Santiago Solari refuses to replace him in the starting XI at least for a game, to promote the competition.

Instead, he sent Óscar Jiménez, second goalkeeper of Las Águilas to play with Club América U-20 squad, as the only addition with over 20 years. He proved that he’s still could play at a high level and keep a clean sheet, something that Ochoa hasn’t done.

Will he leave El Nido given the few opportunities?

It’s a fact that, at least until Ochoa retires, Jiménez won’t have an opportunity to compete for the starting role in Las Águilas but given the apparent rejection of Solari to include him in the plans of the senior squad, the better option for him if he wants to gain regularity is to leave when his contract expires, at the end of the year.

He has experience playing in Liga MX

Óscar Jiménez debuted with the extinct Indios FC, back in 2008, when they were playing in Mexico’s second flight. Since then, he played in a few teams from that division until Chiapas FC gave him the chance of proving himself in Liga MX back in 2013.

With Jaguares, Jiménez played a total of 81 games throughout four seasons, where he managed to get 13 clean sheets and received 123 goals before he joined Club América in 2017, where he’s played just 26 games in over five seasons, where he’s had 10 clean sheets and received 23 goals.
