The game of this weekend could mean the start of a good streak for Chivas or the confirmation of an ongoing crisis that started before Marcelo Michel Leaño arrived in El Rebaño’s dugout, although his presence has done nothing more than intensify it.

The Chivas legend that could replace Marcelo Michel Leaño

In the past, a victory against the biggest rival in Liga MX has worked to help the club to return to a winning path, and given that Clausura 2022 is already halfway, having a good streak now will grant access to Repechaje to most of the teams.

That’s why the Clásico Nacional becomes more important than ever for both Club América and Chivas, although for Marcelo Michel Leaño will by vital to earn the three points if he wants to guarantee his stay for the rest of the season.

But even knowing this, Michel Leaño hasn’t considered having their best players on the pitch, and all because of his ego, as he is thinking of erasing one of the most consistent players El Rebaño has had in the current season.

Who is the player that Michel Leaño doesn’t want?

According to reports, Jesús “Canelo” Angulo is still on the blacklist of both Marcelo Michel Leaño and Amaury Vergara, as he hasn’t closed his YouTube channel and he keeps posting interviews to his teammates on his way to or during training.

This hasn’t sat well with Chivas coach, who already benched Angulo at the start of the season for the same reason, as he argues that the things that he’s posting could give the advantage to their rivals given that they could show sensitive information on the background.

Michel Leaño has tried to establish a discipline set of rules to prevent the leaking of what happens inside Chivas training facilities, and the videos that Angulo records are going against those rules, which is why they’ll sanction him again.

Chivas numbers with Michel Leaño on the bench

Since Marcelo Michel Leaño took over Chivas during Apertura 2021, El Rebaño Sagrado has played a total of 18 games, from which only five have been victories. Chivas has tied six more games and lost the remainder seven, which are not great number for a team like Chivas.
